Rudy's Story
Rudy came to us when she was 2 years old after the passing of Maya. Her original owners were looking for a home that could give her lots of love.
As they drove down the driveway on River Road in Napanee, they knew they had found a new home for her.
Rudy bounded out of the truck, ran around the property and met Molly. Molly wasn't too sure about Rudy. After all, she had just lost her cousin Maya. But after about two weeks they became friends, beginning a lifetime of fun and adventures together.

Her best friend was her sister Molly.
Rudy also had another part-time friend, her brother Oreo, our cat. Oreo seemed to like Rudy better than Molly for some reason. Maybe it was because Rudy would give Oreo little nudges. He seemed to enjoy them.
Rudy and Molly loved their home.
What a team they were, running and playing on 32 acres of property, chasing squirrels and rabbits and even playing with snakes as though they were Frisbees.
Wherever Rudy was, you could bet Molly was right behind her.
Some of Rudy's favorite things were catching golf balls when Bobby would hit them to her and diving for rocks in the water.
Foster
Rudy and Molly shared a boyfriend named Foster.
Foster was the dog of our neighbors, Pat and Al Craig. Foster loved coming to the house to visit Rudy and Molly.
It was a dog's dream — he had his own little harem living close by, and it was easy for him to visit.

The RV Adventures
One of Rudy and Molly's favorite things was going on RV trips.
We never forgot them when we took an RV trip, and what adventures those two got into!
One of the funniest stories — although it wasn't very funny when it happened — was the time they found a skunk.
Boy, did they get it good from that skunk, especially Rudy.
Rudy had her face right near the skunk when WHAM — the skunk let her have it.
Full-face skunk smell!
Then we had to figure out how we were going to keep that smell out of the RV.
We weren't very successful.
By the time we finished cleaning Rudy and Molly, WE smelled like skunk too.
It took a very long time for that smell to disappear from the RV.

Losing Molly

In December 2013, we lost Molly.
She became sick and we had to put her down.
Rudy was sad.
We decided to wait before introducing another playmate because Rudy was getting older and we weren't sure whether she would want another dog around.
Then Came Snickers
At Christmas 2014, we found Snickers and brought him home to be with Rudy.
Rudy wasn't too sure about Snickers at first, but soon enough they became best buddies.
Snickers just loved Rudy.
I think Rudy thought of Snickers almost as her child. She loved him and would protect him.

Together Again
“I miss Rudy and Molly so much, but I do know they are together again and will be waiting for Bobby and me at the Rainbow Bridge.”
